Mosaic tortoise plant buddy made using stained glass.

The base has been cut from a laminated wood block. The glass has then been hand cut and a face painted onto the head before heating in the kiln to a temperate of around 740 degrees Celsius in order to produce smooth rounded edges to each piece of glass and fix the enamel paint.

The pieces have then been secured to the base before grouting. The sides and back of the laminate block have been painted black and a small hole drilled into it in order to place the tortoise onto a stainless steel rod.

The tortoise measures approximately 5cm by 8.5cm and is approximately 1.5cm thick. The overall item is approximately 23cm.

*Not suitable for outdoor use. It may be advisable to remove when watering your plant, especially if you are using a mister, to prevent your tortoise from getting wet.

*As this product has been made using glass there may be some sharp edges. Care should be taken when handling the product.

*This is a purely decorative item.
